Enrolling your child at Yanwath Primary School

Here at Yanwath Primary School, we pride ourselves on our ability to understand the needs of every child and this is reflected in our approach to the admissions process.

Admissions Process

Applications for primary school places in September 2025 are open from Wendesday 4th September to Wednesday 15th January. You must apply within this time period.

There are three ways that you can apply:

Apply via the Online Portal

This is the recommended
way to apply.
You can apply via the
Citizen Portal on Westmorland
and Furness Council’s website.

Email
application form

You can complete the form
via a Word template.
Email your completed form to: 
school.admissions@
westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk

Post
application form

You can either post your form to
School Admissions and Appeals,
Westmorland and Furness Council
PO Box 305, Kendal LA9 9GZ or drop it into our school and we will send it for you.

What happens next?

The council will email you the outcome of your application on Wednesday 16th April (or the next working day) if you apply online, or they will post a letter to you on this date if you apply using a paper form.
