Welcome To Year 1

An Interview With Miss Winter

How long have you worked at Yanwath?

Officially, I am going into my second year teaching at Yanwath but I completed two placements here in year 1 and reception.

What are some pets you’ve had or would like to own?

I currently have 2 dogs which I love to spend time with out on the fells. When I was younger, we had a tortoise (although she wasn’t very cuddly!)

How do you spend your summer breaks?

Relaxing in the sunshine, paddle boarding and trying to conquer all 214 Wainwrights.

What are your “trapped on a desert island” books or movies?

Any Disney movie! Although I’m more of a book lover – my most recent favourite has been Where the Crawdads Sing.

If you won the lottery and decided to give up teaching, what would you do instead?

Travel the world.

How do you show your school spirit?

Get stuck in anywhere! It’s always exciting to get involved in something new.

In which other teacher’s class would you like to enrol, even for a day? Why?

I would love to join Miss Peile in Year 6 to camp out with a good book and to lean lots of difficult maths.

What is the best thing about being a teacher?

To meet amazing pupils everyday and to watch them grow into fantastic human beings.

If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?

Life is very short – enjoy it how you please and spend time with your family as much as possible.
