Our Breakfast Club is open to all from 8:00am every weekday morning and is run by Miss Gibson, Mr Hook, Miss Edwards and Miss Kemp. Breakfast Club is split into two sessions – children will be provided with breakfast in the first session which runs until 8:20am for a cost of £2. Children are given a choice of nutritious breakfast items such as toast, crumpets, waffles, pancakes, rice cakes, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, breakfast bars and fresh fruit juice. Our second session commences at 8:20 until 8:30am at a cost of £1 – breakfast is not provided in this session.
There are a range of different activities that children can take part in. For example, reading, colouring, watching CBBC Newsround or even just a chance to catch up with their friends before their lessons start. Breakfast Club can be a great social opportunity for children and allows children to ensure they’re at school on time.
Breakfast Club can be booked and paid for via ParentMail. However, if you have any questions or queries the admin team are on hand to help.
We offer a wide range of daily After School Club activities that are altered on a termly basis. Some clubs are run by outside companies, with our main after school clubs being run by our teaching team who volunteer their time to enhance our curriculum. Just like Breakfast Club, After School Club is split into two separate sessions. The first session which is the extracurricular activity is from 3:15 until 4:15pm at a cost of £2. The second session is from 4:15 until 5:30pm at a cost of £4 which includes a snack and drink. We like to encourage downtime during the second session which may involve drawing, colouring, playing a board game or listening to music. This is also an opportunity for children to form relationships with other children in different classes as the group is much smaller and intimate.
Other after school clubs, which are provided by outside companies (such as The Science Booth, Razzamataz or our Chocolate Workshops) may be charged at a different price, to ensure costs are covered. We are always open to suggestions for different clubs and would welcome any parent volunteers who may be able to support us with running clubs such as running, tag rugby, netball or more.
The latest collection is 5:30pm – unless there is an emergency then failure to arrive before 5:30pm may result in a fine. The school office closes at 4:00pm so in case of an emergency please email admin@yanwath.cumbria.sch.uk. ASC staff are able to access emails but would be unable to answer a call.
