What class do you teach? Year 5
How long have you worked at Yanwath? I began working at Yanwath Primary School this term, which is Spring 2021.
What would the children be surprised to find out about you? I am from an agricultural background.
Do you have any pets? I own a flock of Cheviot sheep, as well as some Cheviot mules. I am a huge dog lover, and I own a collie named Vik and a terrier named Flint.
How do you spend your school holidays? I tend to spend my time seeing friends, walking the dogs and hacking out on the horses.
What would be your favourite meal? If I had to eat one meal for the rest of my life I would probably pick macaroni cheese (not the healthiest of options, I know).
What makes a ‘good day’ at Yanwath? A ‘good day’ involves fun and active lessons that ensures engaging and enjoyable learning for all students.
What is the best thing about being a teacher? It has to be witnessing the children in your class grow and develop.
If you could pass any wisdom on to your students, what would you share? To not worry about making mistakes, because a person who never makes mistakes, never challenges themselves to reach their full potential.
