Year 5 – Brougham

What is your name?  My name is Mr. White.

What class do you teach?  I teach Brougham Class (Year 5).

How long have you worked at Yanwath? I have worked here since June 2022, this is my first full year at the school.

What would the children be surprised to find out about you? You might be surprised to learn that I have been for a swim in Lake Titikaka. I have spent a night in a cave, another in a snowhole and one on the side of a cliff. I keep hens, grow vegetables and should also mention that I own a panda.

What makes a ‘good day’ at Yanwath? A good day at Yanwath involves taking my lesson outside, making my class laugh and working on something together that we can really be proud of. Today was a good day, we did our maths lesson on the field and pupils performed a poem to their classmates.

What is the best thing about being a teacher? I really love that I get to work with the most energetic and intelligent people in the world, my pupils are fantastic!

If you could pass any wisdom on to your students, what would you share? Honesty is the best policy – these five words will help you to make good decisions throughout school and beyond.
