Music at Yanwath 🎵🎹

At Yanwath, we aim to develop every child’s love and understanding of music. Our curriculum helps children become confident performers, composers, listeners, and appraisers, while exploring music from around the world and across generations.

Children will:

• 🎤 Develop skills in singing and playing tuned and untuned instruments

• 🎼 Learn to improvise, compose, and write music

• 👂 Listen to and respond thoughtfully to different styles of music

• 🌍 Discover the history and cultural context of the music they study

• 🤝 Build transferable skills such as teamwork, leadership, creative thinking, problem-solving, and performance confidence

Through music, children gain skills that extend beyond the classroom, helping them grow as creative, confident, and expressive learners. Our curriculum meets the national curriculum’s key stage attainment targets, inspiring children to create, experience, and participate in the arts and culture.
