Design & Technology at Yanwath 🛠️🎨

At Yanwath, our Design & Technology (DT) curriculum encourages children to be creative, curious, and hands-on problem solvers. Using the Kapow Primary curriculum from Year 1 to Year 6, children explore a wide range of exciting projects that develop their design, making, and evaluation skills.

DT lessons are rotated with Art each half term, giving children the chance to balance creativity with practical skills throughout the year.

During DT, children:

• ✏️ Learn to design and plan their own projects

• 🧩 Make and build using a variety of materials and tools

• 🔍 Test, evaluate, and improve their work

• 🤝 Work together, share ideas, and solve problems

• 🌟 Develop creativity, resilience, and confidence

Our DT curriculum helps children see how ideas come to life, building important skills they can use both in school and in everyday life.
