Computing

Computing at Yanwath 💻✨

At Yanwath, our computing curriculum is designed to help children understand and safely explore the ever-changing digital world around them. We aim to give every child the skills and confidence they need to use technology in a positive and responsible way.

From an early age, children are introduced to a range of technology to support their learning across the curriculum. From Year 1 to Year 6, we use a paperless classroom approach, where every child has access to their own laptop.

Children use their individual accounts on Microsoft Teams to access learning that is carefully tailored to their needs. This allows them to work independently, collaborate with others, and develop important digital skills.

Through daily use of technology, children:

  • 💡 Build confidence using a range of digital tools

  • 🔐 Learn how to stay safe online

  • 🧠 Develop key computing knowledge and skills

  • 🤝 Work collaboratively and share ideas

  • 🚀 Become independent and enthusiastic learners

Our goal is to prepare children for the future by helping them become responsible, creative, and capable users of technology.
