Attendance and behaviour were recognised as particular strengths, with inspectors highlighting the highly effective systems leaders have developed to identify and remove barriers to attendance.
The published report is filled with positive reflections about our school’s work, with inspectors highlighting:
“Leaders have created a calm, focused learning environment.”
“Pupils enjoy their learning and take pride in their work.”
“Pupils show high levels of respect towards staff, and to each other.”
“Bullying is very rare and pupils are confident that adults would act quickly if they raised concerns.”
“This is a highly inclusive school.”
“Pupils, including disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, achieve extremely well in reading, writing and mathematics.”
Inspectors also recognised the strength of the school’s inclusive approach, noting the rigorous and highly tailored support provided for pupils and the close work leaders undertake with families and specialists to ensure every child succeeds.
The report highlights the quality of leadership across the school and Cumbria Education Trust, alongside the broad and ambitious curriculum and the wide range of experiences provided beyond the classroom.
