Welcome To Year 3

An Interview With Mrs Pattinson

How long have you worked at Yanwath?

Over 10 years.

What are some pets you’ve had or would like to own?

I have a cat called Dora. One day I dream of owning a Vizsla.

How do you spend your summer breaks?

Often, we visit France and spend time with our friends and family.

What are your “trapped on a desert island” books or movies?

I will read any form of historical fiction and I enjoy foreign cinema or tv programmes. There’s something captivating about watching something in another language.

If you won the lottery and decided to give up teaching, what would you do instead?

The entrepreneur in me would give running a business a good go. In fact,  have always fancied running a Chambres d’hôtes so that would certainly give that some consideration.

What is the best thing about being a teacher?

Every day you too are the student. There is no single day when you walk away not having learnt a thing or too. Helping others to do the same is a privilege and a pleasure.

If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?

Life is like a staircase. Sometimes you are at the top, sometimes you are at the bottom. Often you are in the middle. Keep going – the journey and how you handle it is what counts.
